A) Change of direction, Storyboard Pro now applicable to make animatic.
B) Home replacing Dairy, got more traction. Still presents technical challenges (learn to use program) but as purpose is clear that feels more surmountable. Keep the story flowing to see if my solutions for Home work.

C) Second part of animatic in Storyboard Pro
I've confirmed change of direction after consultation with Matt late yesterday I will now focus on Home. Today I intended to work in Storyboard Pro and make the second half of the animatic. (I made the first half in Photoshop and whilst that was NOT a fun experience, it is now the starting point for Folio 2.)
I'm printed a copy of the storyboard and put it up on my studio wall – really helpful for referencing and making changes as they occur during the production. (And something I noticed in lots of the storyboard research.)
I kept building the set of ideas that started after Wyn's talk (so inspiring) but as they occuedr with no explicit plans to work on them.
I was unable to activate Storyboard Pro till late in the evening. Perhaps a good thing.
I spent most of the day on the storyboard and discovered that I was solving lots of little problems including the form of the template itself. I have made a modular template so that the borders/boxes etc don’t cramp my drawing/thinking but action/sound etc can be introduced in stages. (I need one to make another adjustment for dialogue and timing.)
During consultaion with Matt I articulated some of the problems the storyboard had thrown up (resolved by talking them out). When he asked about my character I found a description – “sophisticated stick figure” and see I need to accompany the animatic with some character studies/explorations.
- Storyboards need to be thorough
- Put them up on the wall
- Storyboard templates have parts for a reason but hope I have made a less suffocating form
- Toon Boon has a good response time and assistance:
PROBLEM: Unable to activate license.
SOLUTION: sign in, change password, sign back OUT then launch and activate the license wizard
- Their website has helpful how-to’s. Nothing like TVPaint!!
